Jackie Preuss has avoided jail for a campaign of harassment against her lover's wife, including steamy novel extracts about their liaisons
A spurned mistress who wrote an erotic novel about her affair with a married man then sent it to his wife has been spared jail.
Jackie Preuss, 43, described intimate details of the fling in the book 'Simon's Saga' - named after her lover Simon Cragg - after he went back on a promise to leave his wife.
She bombarded his wife Debra Michael with phone calls, sent photos of herself in 'erotic poses' and posted details of the encounters on Facebook in a year-long campaign.
Preuss, of Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, was today handed a 20-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, after admitting a charge of harassment.
The court heard that, in one letter Preuss told Ms Michael, she had sex with her husband in his car, adding: 'We got caught by the police like a couple of criminals.'
She added: 'Think I left my knickers in the car, would you mind checking?' and 'I hope your sex life is this exciting'.
Preuss telephoned Ms Michael and told her she had given birth to her husband's 'little b****** child' and that she had given the baby away - but there was no baby.
Preuss even showed up at her love rival's home after her 18-month affair fell apart and introduced herself as 'Simon's girlfriend'.
The book extracts she sent to his wife included a 'feedback' form for his spouse to fill in. She also sent extracts to the woman's sister and elderly mother.
She was arrested following repeated complaints from the victim, Birmingham Magistrates Court heard.
Preuss wrongly told Simon Cragg's she had his baby, leaving her feeling 'sick and low'
An indefinite restraining order was imposed preventing Preuss from having any form of contact with Ms Michael.
She was also ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work, pay court costs of £775 and a victim surcharge of £115.
Chairman of the bench Margaret Dilloway told Preuss: 'Your actions were prolonged and caused great upset to the complainant and her family. Your actions were planned in advance to cause the maximum upset.'
The court heard Preuss began the affair with Mr Cragg in 2013. He had promised to leave his wife for her but did not keep his promise and the relationship broke down.
In a statement, Ms Michael said Preuss's campaign had left her feeling 'sick and really low'.
She said: 'I feel like when I go to work everyone is looking at me, to the point I have to bow my head in shame for something I haven't done.'
